People living with limited sight need to find their place of worth in society, as job satisfaction and a career are a very important part of daily life. This is another side of inclusion and we know the tyde is turning and positive change is happening.

Can people with severe sight problems read and write?
Yes people with a sight problem or those who are totally blind can read and write. They will have completed their education to various levels depending on the individual’s choice. They will use special or adapted equipment to help them read or write, depending on the individual’s need.
How do they manage to cook, clean, shop and so on?
People with severe sight problems are able to cook, clean their home and take care of their shopping. Multi-tasking is not an option and these tasks can be accomplished by dedicating time and attention. Shop assistants are always happy to help all their customers.
If sight is a problem, how can they travel alone?
People with severe sight problems, including those who are blind, can travel alone. They will need to learn or memorise a route, remembering specific landmarks. When travelling alone, some assistance might be required. It depends on the mode of transport and the frequency of the journey.

Sessions are designed to help you as an employer overcome your reservations through new awareness. With the right tools you can facilitate inclusion. With coaching you and your team can become fully confident as an employer, hiring someone with sightloss or low vision, as you will have overcome your doubts.
